Emma turned 5 and had a party

Emma turned five today! She was very happy about this and does not want to be called Mommy's baby anymore. Emma let Alex open two of her presents this morning. She is maturing before our eyes.
Then it was time to get ready for a party!
Grandma and Grandpa Shumway came early to exchange Christmas presents and play. Grandma played a serious game of Connect Four. We had to remind Grandma they were only five and two.

It was a Mickey Mouse birthday party so the kids had ears! We all had a nice lunch before going downstairs for games.

First it was the pinata, but Emma decided to pull all the strings at once.
Then we played musical chairs but Emma would not get up because she wanted that chair. And Alex cried so hard when he did not get a chair, and Mikayla was crying about something also. We are never playing games again.

So Emma was still upset with Mommy about the games(she wanted) so we skipped the decorate your own cupcake and went for the cake. Obviously we did not get any nice cake pictures since someone was still mad.
Aunt Tricia made the awesome cake with butter cream frosting with raspberry flavoring. The cupcakes spelled: Emma is 5. She only wanted three candles.

Hailie and Alex played nicely while we opened presents.

Half way through present opening Emma had a smile. She was getting silly, she did eat cake, ice cream and a cupcake.

While we were in the living room opening presents we heard lots of noise coming from Alex's room. Uncle Jay was bouncing Alex up to his ceiling and was having a rubber hammer/baseball like sword fight.

Later towards the end of the Packer game when only Uncle Brad was left hanging out with us Alex decided to sing Frosty the Snowman and dance for Brad while calling himself naked boy.
It was nice to spend the day with family and friends and good food. But seriously no more musical chairs.
